About the role

Georgetown University seeks a reliable Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across its Main Campus. Working 40 hours per week, you will follow a detailed cleaning plan to support the university community in its academic and residential spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general and specific cleaning tasks covering 28,000‑35,000 sq ft per shift.
• Handle snow and ice removal, water or fire damage cleanup, and special‑event support.
• Use standard custodial tools, equipment, and supplies while adhering to safety regulations.
• Report to assigned Custodial Supervisor and follow directions from Facilities Management as needed.
• Respond to emergency situations such as spills, flooding, or urgent maintenance requests.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team on varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Professional demeanor with a focus on service quality and safety.
• Reliability in attendance, punctual clock‑in/out, and adherence to university policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard custodial tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of basic safety and cleaning procedures.
