Campus Custodian – Full‑time

About the role

Join Georgetown University’s Facilities team as a Campus Custodian, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the Hilltop and Capitol campuses. This full‑time position works 40 hours per week and supports the university community in daily operations and special events.

Key responsibilities

• Follow a detailed cleaning plan to service 28,000‑35,000 sq ft of space each shift.
• Perform routine cleaning, floor care, restroom sanitation, and waste removal.
• Respond to emergency situations such as snow and ice removal, water or fire damage cleanup, and special event support.
• Use standard custodial tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies while adhering to safety regulations.
• Report to a Custodial Supervisor and collaborate with other facilities staff as needed.

Required profile

• Reliability and punctuality for shift attendance and clock‑in/out procedures.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule for emergencies or special assignments.
• Professional demeanor when representing the department to students, staff, and visitors.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard custodial equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and precautions related to facilities maintenance.
