About the role
David Yurman is seeking an experienced CAD Designer to create jewelry pieces ranging from intermediate to advanced difficulty using Rhino. The role involves translating design concepts into production‑ready models while maintaining the brand’s aesthetic and functional standards.
Key responsibilities
- Create intermediate jewelry pieces from concept to final model with limited supervision.
- Develop more complex forms and mechanisms (stone settings, clasps, linkages) with minimal direction.
- Provide timeline estimates and ensure designs are completed within project schedules.
- Suggest and apply appropriate building techniques for various production processes.
- Review vendor CAD files for technical viability and deliver concise feedback.
Required profile
- 5‑7 years of CAD experience specifically in jewelry design.
- Strong knowledge of complex jewelry construction and properties of precious and non‑precious metals.
- Proficiency in creating solid, workable polysurface files and repairing mesh objects.
- Understanding of mechanisms such as hinges, clasps, and stone settings.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret design renderings and engineering documents.
