Buyer – Strategic Procurement for Research Materials

About the role

Join UDRI’s procurement team to lead strategic sourcing of materials, equipment, and services that enable cutting‑edge research and innovation. You will negotiate best‑value solutions, ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations, and collaborate with stakeholders across the institute.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and issue RFPs/RFQs based on design drawings, SOWs, and specifications.
• Obtain, analyze, and negotiate quotes to achieve best‑value outcomes.
• Perform budgetary reviews, adjustments, and track requisitions in an eProcurement system.
• Maintain compliance with Federal Government acquisition regulations, DFARS, FARs, and university policies.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support critical research projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field.
• Minimum three years of procurement experience at the P2 level.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Proven customer‑service orientation and effective negotiation abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with eProcurement systems (e.g., Jaggaer).
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek CostPoint).
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
