Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer will be responsible for acquiring products, equipment, and services needed by Seattle Children’s while balancing cost, quality, and compliance. This role supports the hospital’s mission by ensuring timely and reliable procurement aligned with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain products, equipment and services from suppliers at the lowest cost while ensuring quality, reliability and compliance.
• Monitor delivery metrics and invoice terms to guarantee timely receipt and accurate billing.
• Provide technical assistance for procurement in specific commodity areas following state and institutional guidelines.
• Enforce procurement policies and procedures and ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years of experience in a buying or procurement role.
• Experience reviewing contracts and proposals and negotiating terms and conditions.
• Background in capital equipment acquisition.
