Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Komatsu is seeking a motivated Buyer to support its Longview, TX operations. The role focuses on supplier selection, procurement, and inventory control to ensure timely delivery of materials and services for both OEM and aftermarket sales.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and procure materials, ensuring quality specifications and on‑time delivery.
• Create and manage purchase orders, resolve discrepancies, and maintain supplier records.
• Support cost‑reduction initiatives and monitor material costs.
• Develop supplier relationships to improve quality, delivery, and total cost of ownership.
• Coordinate expediting, MRP messages, and reject part disposition to avoid production stoppages.
• Assist with compliance initiatives such as NAFTA, conflict minerals, and modern slavery reporting.
• Generate and analyze reports as required by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business or equivalent experience.
• 1‑3 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
