About the role

Salamander Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage end‑to‑end Purchase‑to‑Pay services for direct and indirect material categories in a manufacturing environment. The role is on‑site in Houston and offers high visibility with diverse stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and manage the full procurement cycle, including PO issuance, expediting, invoice remediation, and PO close‑out.
• Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on‑time delivery and resolve issues promptly.
• Coordinate vendor onboarding, maintain vendor catalogs, and ensure documentation is entered into MRP and accounting systems.
• Facilitate NDAs, ensure compliance with delegation and signing authorities, and track delivery ETAs.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and legal to create item numbers, negotiate contracts, and capture commercial intent.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or logistics (advanced degree a plus).
• 2‑4+ years of procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing and oil & gas.
• Strong stakeholder communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work across global teams and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Experience with Procure‑to‑Pay systems such as Ariba, Coupa, D365, or Medius.
• Knowledge of delegation and signing authorities.
• Familiarity with ERP procurement (Dynamics 365 highly preferred).
• Understanding of categories like raw materials, MRO, fabrication, electrical, and engineered equipment.
