Business Systems Analyst – Learning Platforms

About the role

The University of Miami’s UMIT Department is seeking a full‑time Business Systems Analyst to join its Learning Platforms team in Coral Gables, FL. You will support a suite of academic technologies that enable course design, media storage, communication, advising, and assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed action plans with goals, timelines, and approvals.
• Maintain communication with managing staff and document existing vs. improved process flows.
• Prepare time and cost estimates for projects and proposals.
• Conduct research on best‑practice models and benchmark against industry standards.
• Apply process‑design, optimization, and forecasting techniques to improve system performance.
• Analyze current workflows, staffing, space utilization, and technology usage.
• Design improved work standards, policies, procedures, and inventory control systems.
• Collect baseline data, measure improvements, and present findings with cost‑benefit analysis.

Required profile

• Experience providing technical support for learning platforms in a higher‑education environment.
• Ability to collaborate with help‑desk teams, system administrators, and university stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills for process mapping, cost estimation, and performance measurement.
