About the role

The University of Miami’s Project Management Office is seeking a full‑time Business Systems Analyst I to work on‑site in Coral Gables, FL. This position combines business systems analysis for project‑management tools with active involvement in process‑improvement and project delivery initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed action plans with goals, target dates, and required approvals.
• Maintain ongoing communication and rapport with managing staff.
• Flowchart existing processes and propose improved workflows.
• Prepare time and cost estimates for projects and proposals.
• Conduct research on best‑practice models and benchmarking.
• Apply industrial and management‑engineering techniques to optimize systems.
• Analyze current workflows, staffing levels, space utilization, and technology usage.
• Design improved work standards, policies, and procedures.
• Assist in designing facilities, management systems, and standard operating procedures.
• Develop management control systems to support financial planning and cost analysis.
• Improve productivity through technology and human‑factors applications.
• Support supply‑chain management standards across the institution.
• Collect data to measure baseline performance and post‑implementation improvements.
• Prepare presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data.
• Experience reviewing and improving business processes, systems, and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to develop actionable plans and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a university environment and supporting multiple stakeholders.
