Business Systems Analyst 3 – Full-time

About the role

The University of Miami’s Department of Information Technology is seeking a full-time Business Systems Analyst 3 to support the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of internal software applications and related training programs. In this role you will collect and analyze detailed data to help shape technology strategies that enhance performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and triage application issues and support cases.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for ongoing projects and system releases.
• Test internal application releases and perform periodic system maintenance.
• Provide training and support to internal users.
• Monitor system availability in collaboration with system administrators.
• Develop action plans with goals, target dates, and obtain necessary approvals.
• Prepare time and cost estimates for projects and proposals.
• Conduct research on best‑practice models and benchmark against industry standards.
• Apply industrial and management engineering techniques to improve processes, workflow, and supply‑chain management.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience evaluating operations, systems, and procedures.
• Ability to translate data findings into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for maintaining rapport with management and stakeholders.
• Experience documenting processes, creating flowcharts, and estimating project resources.
