Business Systems Analyst 1

About the role

The University of Miami’s Department of Information Technology is seeking a full‑time Business Systems Analyst 1 to support technology planning and performance improvement in Coral Gables, FL. The analyst will collect data, evaluate existing processes, and recommend solutions that reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed action plans with goals, target dates, and required approvals.
• Maintain communication with managing staff and create flowcharts comparing current and improved processes.
• Prepare time and cost estimates for projects and proposals.
• Research best‑practice models and benchmark industry standards.
• Apply industrial and management engineering techniques such as process design, optimization, forecasting, and supply‑chain principles.
• Analyze existing workflows, staffing, space utilization, and computerized systems.
• Design improved work standards, policies, procedures, and inventory control systems.
• Assist in designing facilities, management systems, and standard operating procedures.
• Develop management control systems for financial planning and cost analysis.
• Collect baseline data, measure improvements, and present findings with recommendations and cost‑benefit analysis.
• Participate in continuous quality‑improvement activities and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Strong learning agility and ability to quickly grasp new procedures.
