Business Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager for a leading freight forwarder in Houston. This is a hunting‑focused position designed to expand our air and ocean freight volumes across the Gulf region. You will work closely with operational teams while driving your own revenue pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and win new air and ocean freight accounts throughout Houston and the Gulf.
• Build and maintain a sales pipeline using your existing network and proactive prospecting.
• Sell project cargo, oil & gas, and general freight solutions to importers and exporters.
• Manage each opportunity from the initial call through to live shipments, ensuring smooth hand‑off to operations.

Required profile

• Proven track record in freight forwarding sales with a portable book of business.
• Deep knowledge of the Houston import/export market.
• Ability to prospect, present, and close deals independently.
• Result‑oriented mindset with a desire to own a sales book.

Required skills
