Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive new business growth while maintaining and expanding sales with key NSP customers. You will work closely with senior account leaders to meet sales targets, optimise existing accounts, and resolve any issues that arise.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities and sustain profitable sales with major NSP accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key account managers, end‑users, and internal departments.
• Meet or exceed sales and profit goals set by senior management.
• Collaborate with Senior National Account Managers and Sales Directors to create and execute business plans.
• Lead and motivate the sales team, providing direction when managers are unavailable.
• Assist with sales calls, pipeline management, inventory oversight, and profitability optimisation.
• Conduct regular reviews of sales performance, returns, quotes, promotions, inventory turns, and forecasts.
• Analyse market trends, competition, pricing, and point‑of‑sale data to identify growth opportunities.
• Escalate critical account issues promptly and ensure follow‑up actions are completed.

• Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with key accounts.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Analytical mindset for reviewing sales data, forecasts, and market trends.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with customers and internal teams.
