Business Development Manager – Foodservice Sales

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive sales growth within the foodservice channel for The Chefs' Warehouse, a national distributor of premium culinary ingredients. You will focus on acquiring new multi‑unit accounts, retaining platinum‑level customers, and re‑engaging lost accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across existing and untapped foodservice channels using research and data analysis.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop targeted strategies that meet budgeted sales goals.
• Create customized sales plans and presentations for each prospect, thinking creatively to meet specific customer needs.
• Close high‑value deals and build lasting relationships with key decision‑makers.
• Maintain oversight of accounts after hand‑off to ensure continued growth and optimal utilization of the product portfolio.
• Analyze menu trends, order guides and purchase data to generate actionable insights and cost‑comparison proposals.
• Provide market intelligence to the corporate team and coordinate with transportation to optimize delivery routes.
• Travel to client headquarters and attend meetings to support account development.

Required profile

• Proven track record of high‑closing sales performance in the foodservice or related distribution industry.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret purchasing data and market trends.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with senior buyers and chefs.
• Self‑motivated, results‑driven and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
