Buildings & HVAC Technical Product Manager

About the role

PassiveLogic is building the first fully autonomous platform for buildings, combining autonomous systems, energy and the built environment. It is seeking a Technical Product Manager with professional experience in buildings, HVAC, mechanical systems, building controls or a closely related field. The role creates and maintains product roadmaps, turns building-domain needs into engineering plans and keeps teams aligned on customer value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage product roadmaps, structure initiatives into workstreams and guide engineering teams toward development and release goals.
• Use knowledge of building systems, HVAC, controls, energy or building operations to inform product decisions and identify technical gaps.
• Help teams overcome technical complexity or incomplete information, making data-informed decisions.
• Translate the needs of building experts, customers, designers and software engineers into priorities, user stories, test cases and deliverables.
• Shape roadmaps around intuitive, user-centered solutions while balancing design quality, feasibility and timelines.
• Partner with UI/UX and engineering teams on documented designs and ensure fidelity to the intended experience.
• Communicate plans, goals, progress, dependencies, risks and roadblocks to stakeholders, and produce reporting and planning materials.
• Stay informed on building technology, HVAC, automation, energy modeling, software and AI, and evaluate ways to incorporate new capabilities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in technical program, product or project management.
• Professional experience with buildings, HVAC, mechanical systems, building automation, controls, energy modeling or a closely related field.
• A technical or engineering background, including a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience creating product roadmaps and leading complex, multidisciplinary engineering initiatives.
• Experience shipping technical products and turning customer and domain needs into requirements, user stories, test cases and workstreams.
• Collaborative leadership experience across engineering, UI/UX, sales, customer success and company leadership.

Required skills

• Helpful: building automation systems, HVAC controls, energy management systems, digital twins, or building operations.
• Helpful: familiarity with tools such as EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, IES VE, DesignBuilder, TRACE 3D Plus, Ladybug Tools, Sefaira, Autodesk Insight or cove.tool.
• Helpful: experience with mechanical engineers, controls engineers, energy modelers, architects, facility operators or building owners; qualitative and quantitative research; project management leadership.
