Building Engineer – Highrise (Paseo)

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Building Engineer to manage the mechanical and life‑safety systems of the Paseo high‑rise property in Austin. The role ensures that HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and building automation systems operate efficiently, safely, and comfortably for tenants.

Key responsibilities

• Direct preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance of all mechanical systems.
• Maintain records of equipment inventories, work requests, and compliance activities.
• Update and train staff on fire and life‑safety procedures and policies.
• Conduct annual inspections, report results, and develop action plans.
• Oversee contractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and cost control.
• Perform system commissioning to verify proper operation of each system.

Required profile

• Demonstrated understanding of high‑rise building systems and their integration.
• Experience developing and executing preventive maintenance programs.
• Ability to coordinate with on‑site teams and external contractors.
