Budget Specialist II for National Center for Infrastructure Transformation

About the role

The Budget Specialist II supports the National Center for Infrastructure Transformation (NCIT) at Prairie View A&M University by reviewing and approving moderately complex budgetary documents and performing detailed budget analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review IDOs, supplemental pay, payroll adjustments, and manage procurement activities.
• Oversee the Center’s operating budget, including federal and cost‑sharing funds, and assist with annual budget preparation.
• Coordinate monthly with Institutional Research, Financial Aid, Payroll, and Student Employment offices to ensure accounts stay within budget.
• Develop and implement budget management tools using CANOPY, FAMIS, Maestro, Workday and Excel, and produce regular financial reports for the Director.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least three years of related budgeting or financial analysis experience.
• Ability to handle sensitive information, maintain confidentiality, and work cooperatively with multiple university offices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Workday, CANOPY, FAMIS, Maestro, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong word processing, spreadsheet, and database application skills.
