Broadcast Production Intern – Live Sports TV

About the role

The Dallas Mavericks Broadcast Department is looking for motivated interns to experience live sports television production during the 2026‑2027 NBA season. This on‑site internship offers hands‑on exposure to game‑day operations, broadcast technology, and production workflows within a professional NBA environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with setup, testing, and breakdown of audio, video, and graphics equipment in the production studio.
• Participate in guided sessions with cameras, audio boards, graphics platforms, and video control equipment.
• Log and catalog game footage for archival, editing, and replay use.
• Support the production team in preparing on‑air elements such as graphics, highlight packages, and sponsor features.
• Observe pre‑production and post‑production meetings to learn planning and execution of live broadcasts.
• Complete additional tasks assigned to ensure the success of the Broadcast Department.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a college program related to broadcasting, media production, communications, or a similar field.
• Available to work up to 29 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and game days.
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Reliable transportation to Mavs Headquarters in Dallas.

Required skills

• Basic familiarity with video, audio, or editing software/hardware is a plus.
