Breakdown Coordinator – Part‑Time Weekend Shift

About the role

We are seeking a Weekend Breakdown Coordinator who understands heavy‑duty trucks, can troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly, and makes sound decisions under pressure. The position works Friday and Saturday from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, coordinating roadside assistance and supporting the maintenance shop when calls are quiet.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers reporting mechanical failures, tire issues, accidents, or other roadside problems.
• Troubleshoot issues using mechanical knowledge, determine severity, and decide whether to dispatch a mobile mechanic, tow service, or send the equipment to a shop.
• Coordinate with mobile mechanics, towing companies, tire vendors, dealerships, and repair facilities to secure fast, cost‑effective solutions.
• Track each breakdown from initial call through completion, documenting repairs, vendor costs, downtime, and any recurring patterns.
• When call volume is low, open and manage repair orders, communicate with shop technicians, order and track parts, and update maintenance and TMS systems.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy‑duty trucks and trailers, including diesel engines, brakes, electrical systems, tires, and suspension.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Diesel Technician, Service Writer, Commercial Driver, Breakdown Coordinator, or in fleet maintenance.
• Reliable availability to work Saturday and Sunday weekend shifts.
• Good judgment for deciding between roadside repair, towing, or shop service, and ability to stay organized while handling multiple breakdowns.
