Biostatistician 1 – Remote

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Public Health seeks a temporary full‑time Biostatistician 1 to work remotely, providing statistical support for clinical and translational research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate analysis plans, write detailed specifications, and generate tables, figures, and consistency checks.
• Collaborate with investigators to design studies, develop statistical analysis plans, and conduct data cleaning, management, and quality control.
• Perform statistical analyses using methods such as regression, survival, longitudinal, and hypothesis testing.
• Prepare results for progress reports, presentations, peer‑reviewed publications, and grant applications.
• Maintain documentation of databases, programming code, and analytical outputs.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (Biostatistics, Public Health, etc.); doctoral degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience or strong learning agility.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with statistical software and programming tools: R, SAS, SPSS, Stata, Python.
• Experience managing, cleaning, and analyzing large quantitative datasets.
• Strong knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics, including regression modeling and hypothesis testing.
