Bioprocess Engineer

About the role

Krystal Biotech is looking for a motivated Bioprocess Engineer to join its GMP manufacturing site in Pittsburgh. The role supports the production of gene‑therapy products, ensuring quality, safety and on‑time delivery for patients with rare diseases.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage buffers, and operate upstream and downstream bioprocess steps.
• Perform aseptic fill operations and monitor process performance.
• Document all activities in accordance with SOPs and GMP requirements.
• Qualify, clean, and maintain equipment; keep accurate logbooks.
• Maintain cleanliness of the GMP facility and support clean‑room protocols.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Facilities, Materials and other cross‑functional teams.
• Participate in training to stay competent in assigned functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a clean‑room environment with proper cleanroom behavior.
• Experience with cell culture and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑changing, ambiguous environment.
