Biometrics Technician

About the role

Amentum is seeking an experienced Biometrics Technician in Spokane, WA to support a Department of Defense (DoD) customer. The technician operates a complex computer-based biometric and biographic information collection system, maintains accurate data and works on-site, directly with the customer every day.

Key responsibilities

• Collect biometrics and biographical data using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) equipment, and brief people on collection requirements
• Enter data into computer systems and identify errors, researching archival records and listings to reconcile discrepancies
• Run quality assurance checks and train users on portable and fixed registration systems
• Research EBTS standards and update Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs)
• Manage, prepare, receive and inventory COTS and GOTS software and hardware, and recommend products to the government sponsor
• Attend biometrics courses and conferences and advise on R&D and operational evaluation of government programs

Required profile

• Top Secret US Government clearance with SCI eligibility (US citizenship required); active TS/SCI clearance preferred
• At least 2 years of experience in biometrics or forensics
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or Forensic Sciences, or 4+ years of relevant experience; law enforcement experience helpful
• Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail and ability to work unmonitored

• Accessing biometric computer databases and retrieving specialized reports
• Writing clear, accurate technical reports
