Biometrics (Fingerprint) Technician - Part Time

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a part-time Biometrics Technician to support the USCIS Application Support Center in Pittsburgh, PA. The team helps administer the nation's lawful immigration system. The position is hourly and overtime-eligible under the Service Contract Act, paid $18.77 per hour, and part-time employees are eligible for benefits with a consistent schedule of 30 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States, including capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs and signatures within program processing times.
• Screen applicants entering the facility to confirm a valid appointment notice and identification, and visually inspect applicants and their belongings.
• Use crowd-control barriers to keep entry safe and organized, and help enforce the rules and policies of the center.
• Provide front-line customer service to applicants and visitors, treating them with courtesy and respect.
• Safeguard personal identifiable information, including applicant paperwork, identification and electronic biometric data.
• Perform periodic facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor, and assist in contacting law enforcement or first responders when needed.
• Handle administrative paperwork such as tracking processing times, reconciling biometrics captured, and maintaining a visitor control log.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak and write in English; speaking a foreign language is desired.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials, which require U.S. citizenship at this location.
• Ability to stand for the shift duration, handle applicants' hands to take fingerprints, and work in a fast-paced public-facing environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to type.
• Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within 60 days.
