Biometrics (Fingerprint) Technician - On Call

About the role

Amentum is recruiting an on-call Biometrics Technician to support the USCIS Application Support Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The position is casual and on-call: employees are expected to be available five days a week, Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 4:15pm, for substitute coverage as needed, and hours are not guaranteed. It suits people seeking flexible, supplemental income.

Key responsibilities

• Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States.
• Capture electronic fingerprints, photographs and signatures within established processing times.
• Screen applicants for a valid appointment notice and identification, and use crowd-control barriers to keep the entrance safe and orderly.
• Protect personal identifiable information, including applicant paperwork, IDs and electronic biometric data.
• Provide front-line customer service to applicants and visitors, and conduct periodic facility checks reported to the Site Supervisor.
• Handle administrative paperwork such as processing-time tracking, biometrics reconciliation and visitor logs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials; U.S. citizenship is required for this location.
• English speaking and writing ability.
• Ability to stand for the shift, handle applicants' hands to take fingerprints, and work in a fast-paced public setting.
• Ability to type and use basic computers.
• Completion of biometrics training and certification within 60 days.
