Biometrics (Fingerprint) Technician - On Call

About the role

Amentum is recruiting an on-call Biometrics Technician to support the USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) in Casper, Wyoming. The position is part of a team helping the USCIS administer the nation's lawful immigration system. It is an hourly, overtime-eligible casual on-call role under the Service Contract Act, paid $18.30 per hour, with no guaranteed hours.

Key responsibilities

• Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States, including capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs and signatures within program-wide processing times.
• Screen applicants at the entrance for a valid appointment notice and identification, and use crowd-control barriers to keep the facility safe and organized.
• Provide front-line customer service to applicants and visitors, treating them with courtesy and respect, and safeguard personal identifiable information.
• Perform periodic interior and exterior facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor.
• Help the Site Supervisor and immigration officers contact local law enforcement or first responders when necessary.
• Handle administrative paperwork such as tracking processing times, reconciling biometrics captured, and maintaining a visitor control log.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials; U.S. citizenship is required for this location.
• Ability to speak and write in English; speaking a foreign language is desired.
• Ability to stand for the shift duration, handle applicants' hands to take fingerprints, and work in a fast-paced public-facing environment.
• Ability to type and use basic computer skills.
• Completion of biometrics training and certification within 60 days.
