Biometric (Fingerprinting) Technician - On Call

About the role

Amentum is recruiting an on-call Biometric Technician (BT) to support USCIS Application Support Center operations in Helena, Montana. The position is casual and on-call: employees are expected to be available five days a week, Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 4:15pm, for substitute coverage as needed. Hours are not guaranteed and income is supplemental, so it suits people with flexible schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States.
• Capture electronic fingerprints, photographs and signatures within established processing times.
• Screen applicants for a valid appointment notice and identification, and visually inspect them and their belongings before entry.
• Use crowd-control barriers to keep entry safe and organized, and help enforce ASC rules and policies.
• Provide front-line customer service to applicants and visitors, protecting personal identifiable information.
• Perform periodic facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor; assist in contacting law enforcement or first responders when needed.
• Handle administrative paperwork such as tracking processing times, biometrics reconciliation and visitor logs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak and write in English; US citizenship is required to obtain and keep facility credentials.
• Ability to stand for the shift duration, handle applicants' hands to take fingerprints, and work in a fast-paced public environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to type.
• Completion of biometrics training and certification within 60 days.
• Availability for the on-call schedule; a foreign language is desired but not required.
