Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET)

About the role

Advent Services is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to join its A3 Operations team in Omaha, NE. The role involves on‑site support of mission‑critical biomedical and simulation equipment, ensuring reliability and compliance with military and civilian standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, test, and perform preventive maintenance on biomedical and simulation equipment according to OEM specifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and assess equipment condition to recommend repairs, upgrades, replacements, or disposition.
• Support operation and safety of medical simulation platforms such as the Negatively Pressurized Conex Lite (NPCL), C‑130 Fuselage Trainer, and C‑17 training platform.
• Identify and mitigate electrical and mechanical hazards, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Provide training and technical guidance to end‑users as needed.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a color‑vision test.
• Ability to lift equipment up to 51 lb and sign a Non‑Disclosure Agreement before starting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Knowledge of Air Force standards, DoD, Joint Commission, AAAHC, CAP, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and FDA regulations.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, calibrating, and testing complex biomedical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and electronic system documentation.
• Use of computerized systems for maintenance record keeping.
