Biomedical Engineering R&D Intern

About the role

Stryker is looking for biomedical engineering interns in its Research & Development function, based onsite in Fremont. Interns contribute to meaningful projects, gain exposure to mentors and join an innovative, teamwork-driven culture. The internship is open to students majoring in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.

Key responsibilities

• New Product Development: work with cross-functional teams to identify the needs and goals of future products, research new technologies, customer expectations, business requirements and regulations, and use tools such as CAD, FEA and test labs to turn product concepts into designs ready for production.
• Product Engineering: work with cross-functional teams to improve current products, using CAD, FEA, test labs and root cause analysis to enhance product safety and efficacy.
• Document complex processes clearly and present them effectively.
• Network with high-level stakeholders and leaders, and apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced industry setting.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, remaining enrolled after the internship.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, verified at hire.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without needing sponsorship now or in the future.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Interest in learning in a dynamic environment.

What we offer

• Pay of $20 minimum to $35 maximum per hour.
• Sign-on bonus.
