About the role
The Biology Instructor will teach Introduction to Biology I & II and General Biology I & II on a full‑time, 9‑month term basis. Classes are offered during day or evening, in both online and on‑ground formats, across campus, off‑site locations, and partner high schools.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality instruction for assigned biology courses.
- Evaluate student performance, assign grades, and maintain attendance records.
- Utilize the Learning Management System for course delivery, feedback, and record‑keeping.
- Provide academic counseling and career guidance to students.
- Develop and revise curricula, select texts and OER, and create supplemental instructional materials.
- Maintain office hours and support student retention initiatives.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and faculty evaluations.
Required profile
- Relevant academic credentials in biology or a closely related field.
- Experience teaching at the college level, including day/evening and hybrid formats.
- Ability to work across multiple locations and adapt to diverse student needs.
- Commitment to the institution’s mission, values, and student success.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
