Billing Relationship Associate

About the role

Howden, a global insurance group, is hiring a Billing Relationship Associate in Charlotte, NC, on a hybrid schedule. The role supports billing activities within the US Regional Business Service Center, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance in preparing and delivering client and carrier invoices. It works closely with account management and accounting teams to coordinate payment terms, resolve issues and maintain strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Invoice management: request, review and deliver client and carrier invoices on time, coordinate billing allocations and process fee agreements
• Calculate surplus lines tax obligations in line with state regulations
• Confirm carrier payment terms with accounting and maintain SOX compliance documentation
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and review carrier audits, partnering on corrective actions
• Request premium finance quotes for viable accounts

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of billing, accounting or insurance operations experience
• Familiarity with insurance billing, fee agreements and premium financing preferred
• Knowledge of SOX controls or financial compliance is a plus

• SOX compliance awareness
