Billing Associate

About the role

FGS Global is looking for a motivated, detail-focused Billing Associate to join its North America Finance team. The role ensures accurate and timely billing using the firm's accounting platform, NetSuite, through collaboration with project teams, clients and finance departments while keeping billing aligned with project contracts. It is based in the Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid schedule (about 3 days in the office).

Key responsibilities

• Support the end-to-end billing process for NetSuite projects and prepare and review invoices for completeness, accuracy and alignment with project contracts.
• Partner with client managers and project teams on project scope, billing terms and approval needs, and build trusted relationships with internal teams.
• Respond to client billing inquiries, give clear billing information and work with the Receivables team on overdue invoices.
• Keep billing aligned with client contracts and agreed terms, resolving billing-term discrepancies with Legal and project teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation of billing activities, approvals and client interactions, and prepare regular reports on billing status and outstanding invoices.
• Use NetSuite to manage billing and stay current on its features and updates.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of project contracts, billing terms and invoice requirements.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Excellent communication, organization and follow-through skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with billing, invoicing and/or accounts receivable.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
• NetSuite billing functionality.
