Bilingual Staff Attorney

About the role

Casa Myrna, the leading provider of domestic and dating violence solutions in Greater Boston, seeks a Bilingual Staff Attorney to join its Legal Advocacy Program. The attorney will deliver legal services to survivors, offering consultations, representation, and brief legal assistance in family law and immigration matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal consultations to program participants, community clients, and Legal HelpLine callers.
• Educate survivors on legal options to ensure safety‑focused decisions.
• Represent survivors in 209A proceedings and manage a caseload of family‑law or immigration domestic‑violence cases.
• Offer brief legal services, including advice, document preparation, and referrals when full representation is not available.
• Advocate for clients on related issues such as housing and public benefits.
• Participate in professional development, coalition meetings, and outreach/education activities.
• Collaborate with the Managing Attorney on program initiatives and attend weekly case assessment meetings.

Required profile

• Commitment to Casa Myrna’s mission of ending domestic and dating violence.
• J.D. degree and active admission to the Massachusetts Bar in good standing.
• Fluency in English and a second language (Spanish preferred).
