Benefits Officer

About the role

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) seeks a Benefits Officer to join its Records Management and Quality Control Unit in New York. The role supports the development, implementation and evaluation of projects that enhance the administration of retirement, death, disability and related benefits for UN staff worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the design, rollout and monitoring of assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
• Analyse programme data, identify issues, propose corrective actions and track follow‑up activities.
• Conduct research, prepare background papers, draft sections of reports and contribute to policy development.
• Design and manage surveys, develop data‑collection tools, analyse responses and present findings through visualisations.
• Provide substantive support for meetings and conferences, including agenda preparation, participant identification and document drafting.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience in administration, records management, public policy or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in project monitoring, data analysis and policy research.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear reports and briefing documents.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across multiple time zones.
