Behavioral Health Technician – Full-Time (Westover, WV)

About the role

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) supports clients at Wise Path Recovery Center – Westover throughout their treatment journey, from admission to discharge. Working in a trauma‑informed, person‑centered environment, the BHT helps maintain safety, structure, and recovery‑oriented routines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities, recreation, community meetings, and scheduled appointments.
• Provide orientation to new clients covering rules, expectations, schedules, and facility layout.
• Monitor client participation in recovery activities and communicate observations to clinical staff.
• Facilitate or co‑facilitate psychoeducational, recovery, or skills‑based groups under supervision.
• Assist clients experiencing emotional, social, or health‑related crises and escalate as needed.
• Conduct vital signs, urine drug screens, and breathalyzer tests per protocol and maintain chain‑of‑custody documentation.
• Support medication monitoring, safety checks, rounds, and environmental oversight.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety, visitor policies, and emergency procedures.
