Behavioral Health Counselor – Treatment Team Facilitator (Level 3)

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Level 3 Behavioral Health Counselor to serve as a Treatment Team Facilitator at the Georgia Regional Hospital in Decatur. In this acute‑inpatient position you will lead a multidisciplinary team to develop and coordinate comprehensive treatment plans for adults with severe mental illness and complex psychosocial needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings on adult mental health units.
• Develop, document, and implement individualized treatment plans that align admission reasons with measurable goals and interventions.
• Act as client advocate, coordinating required services and resolving crisis situations.
• Collect and evaluate client information through interviews, observations, and assessments.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure all treatment records meet DBHDD policy and accrediting standards.
• Monitor client progress, record outcomes, and prepare required reports with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• Clinician with experience in acute inpatient mental health settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse, underserved populations.
• Strong knowledge of severe mental illness, trauma, impulse‑control, and interpersonal issues.
• Commitment to cultural competence and equity in service delivery.

Required skills

• Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
