Behavioral Health Consultant

About the role

ChesPenn seeks a Behavioral Health Consultant to lead its behavioral health department within a busy, multicultural ambulatory care setting. The role involves providing brief consultation, assessment, and intervention services to primary care patients and supervising a team of consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Provide weekly clinical supervision for a Master’s level social worker working toward LCSW licensure.
• Deliver brief, evidence‑based behavioral health interventions (Motivational Interviewing, CBT, ACT, solution‑focused therapy) to pediatric and adult patients.
• Facilitate smoking cessation sessions and coordinate referrals to specialty mental health services.
• Document consultations in the electronic medical record and give timely feedback to providers.
• Develop and teach educational classes to promote psychological and physical health.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in social work and active LCSW license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in primary care or community health settings.
• Current Pennsylvania licensure and board certification in a specialty.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile preferred.

Required skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with computer applications: spreadsheets, word processing, and graphics.
• Experience with Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and solution‑focused interventions.
• Spanish speaking strongly preferred.
