Bankruptcy Attorney – Partner or Non‑Partner Track

About the role

HOUSTONA, a leading full‑service law firm in Houston, is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney. The position can be on a partner‑track or non‑partner‑track basis, offering exposure to complex restructuring and insolvency matters across multiple industries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy and restructuring matters from inception to resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, proofs of claim and other bankruptcy filings.
• Advise clients on workouts, restructurings and asset‑protection strategies.
• Attend hearings, creditor meetings and provide courtroom support.
• Liaise with trustees, bankruptcy courts, local counsel and opposing counsel.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 matters, including complex Chapter 11 cases.
• Experience representing secured and unsecured creditors, committees, trustees and debtors.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of professionalism and commercial judgment.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy procedures.
• Proficiency in drafting bankruptcy pleadings, motions and proofs of claim.
• Ability to advise on restructuring, workouts and asset‑protection strategies.
