About the role

Barclays is recruiting a Banking Analyst Summer Intern for its Houston office, a 10-week programme for students in their penultimate year of university. The intern joins Investment Banking teams and works on live deals and deal proposals, supported by a mentor and line manager. The programme runs during the summer of the penultimate year of study.

Key responsibilities

• Work on live deals and deal proposals with Investment Banking teams, answering clients' strategic questions
• Perform financial analysis and modelling, valuation and industry research
• Carry out client due diligence and develop written materials such as offering memoranda and new business presentations
• Support client pitches and advise a broad range of corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, structured solutions and risk management
• Manage client relationships and provide customer service support, processing transactions under steadily decreasing supervision
• Develop and implement financial models and strategies, and identify opportunities and business cases for new products and services
• Train and mentor junior colleagues

Required profile

• Final-year student of an eligible degree, ideally with a GPA of 3.2 or above
• Unrestricted work authorization in the country of application; must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
• Applicants must complete their own OPT or CPT documentation; Barclays does not sponsor work visas or offer STEM OPT sponsorship
• Interest in business and finance, teamwork, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit
