Backend Engineer

About the role

SKIMS is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale enterprise‑grade applications that power critical business operations. You will collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineers across the organization to deliver high‑quality software from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python and Django.
• Build and maintain a financial reconciliation data platform leveraging AWS cloud services.
• Deliver reliable, secure, and high‑performance enterprise applications that support business growth.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and drive end‑to‑end product delivery.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Utilize modern AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity and software quality.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional experience developing backend applications with Python and Django.
• Proven ability to partner with stakeholders and deliver products from ideation through production deployment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
• Passion for software craftsmanship, maintainable system design, testing, observability, and continuous improvement.
