Backend Developer – Remote (Contract, $20-$70/hr)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs for our remote projects. This contract, part‑time position offers flexibility while demanding strong technical expertise and a focus on reliability, security, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Optimize backend systems for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor peers, and share knowledge.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in backend development using modern languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Extensive background designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and data‑modeling principles.
• Deep understanding of system security, authentication, and authorization best practices.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
