About the role
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is seeking an AWS Support Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its Enterprise Support Operations team. You will help design, build, and maintain highly resilient cloud platforms that power critical business applications, ensuring stability and security for the nation’s financial system.
Key responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and maintain AWS infrastructure components such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, EKS, VPC, Direct Connect, and more.
- Develop and manage Terraform IaC scripts to provision services and install custom applications.
- Create, maintain, and troubleshoot GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting using CloudWatch, Grafana, and related tools.
- Containerize code and third‑party tools, and manage Helm charts for Kubernetes workloads.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation to resolve incidents and improve system resiliency.
- Address security vulnerabilities, manage IAM policies, encryption, and key management.
Required profile
- Strong background in AWS cloud services and infrastructure automation.
- Hands‑on experience with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
- Excellent technical writing skills for run‑books and support documentation.
Required skills
- AWS services: Lambda, S3, SNS, EKS, EC2, RDS (Postgres, Oracle), VPC, Direct Connect, ALB/ELB, Route53, EFS, CloudWatch, Grafana.
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform.
- CI/CD: GitLab pipelines.
- Programming: Java, Python, Scala.
- Container & middleware: Docker, Helm, NGINX, JBoss, Tomcat.
- Security: IAM, Okta, encryption, key management, vulnerability management.
- Additional knowledge: AWS Glue, ECS, Multi‑AZ/Region architectures, DevSecOps, Agile‑Scrum, JIRA.
