Avionics Technician – Dallas, TX

About the role

West Star is seeking an Avionics Technician to join its fast‑growing maintenance repair team in Dallas. You will work on a variety of avionics components, from navigation and communication systems to radar and autopilot units, ensuring aircraft are safe and mission‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general avionics support, including removal and installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate avionics systems at the component level.
• Inspect and assess aircraft and avionics parts as required.
• Verify aircraft movement and system performance after maintenance.
• Maintain shop equipment, tools, and facilities to support operations.
• Collaborate with customers on project management, pricing, and support.
• Work independently on assigned projects and follow supervisor directives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; electronics or avionics training preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in avionics repair or installation is a plus.
• Self‑motivated team player able to meet tight deadlines.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work overtime, weekends, and shift schedules.
• Effective communication in English, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Avionics troubleshooting for Nav, Com, Radar, Audio, and Autopilot systems.
• Panel removal and component installation.
• Aircraft system inspection and performance verification.
• Maintenance of shop equipment and tooling.
• Basic computer proficiency for electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
