Avionics Maintenance Technician

About the role

West Star is seeking an Avionics Maintenance Technician to join its fast‑growing maintenance repair team in Millville, NJ. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting a range of aircraft avionics systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general avionics support, including removal and installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate avionics systems such as navigation, communications, radar, audio, and autopilot.
• Inspect and assess aircraft and component condition as required.
• Verify aircraft movement and system performance after maintenance.
• Maintain and repair shop equipment, tools, and facilities.
• Collaborate with customers on project management, pricing, and support.
• Work independently on assigned projects and complete any additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; electronics or avionics training preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in avionics repair or installation (preferred).
• Self‑motivated team player able to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work overtime, weekends, and shift schedules.
• Effective communication in English (spoken and written).

Required skills

• Avionics troubleshooting and component‑level repair.
• Installation and removal of avionics panels and components.
• Knowledge of navigation, communications, radar, audio, and autopilot systems.
• System evaluation and performance verification.
• Basic computer proficiency for electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
