Avionics Maintenance Technician

About the role

West Star is seeking an Avionics Maintenance Technician to join its fast‑growing maintenance repair team in Las Vegas. You will work on a variety of avionics units, from navigation and communication to radar and autopilot systems, ensuring aircraft are safe, reliable, and ready for flight.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general avionics support, including removal and installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshoot and repair avionics systems at the component level (Nav, Com, Pulse, Radar, Audio, Autopilot).
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components as designated.
• Verify aircraft movement and system performance after maintenance.
• Maintain and repair shop equipment, tools, and facilities to support operations.
• Collaborate with customers on project management, pricing, and support.
• Work independently on assigned projects and follow supervisor directives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; electronics or avionics training preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in avionics repair or installation.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and meet strict deadlines.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (airline travel approved preferred).
• Effective communication in English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Avionics troubleshooting and repair.
• Knowledge of navigation, communication, radar, audio, and autopilot systems.
• Aircraft panel removal and installation.
• Aircraft inspection and performance verification.
• Basic computer skills for electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
