Avionics Engineering Internship – Spring 2027

About the role

Rendezvous Robotics is developing modular spacecraft components that self‑assemble in orbit. As an Avionics Engineering Intern for the Spring 2027 term, you will support the design and validation of power electronics that enable these next‑generation spacecraft.

Key responsibilities

• Support design and review of power electronics, including battery management and protection circuits.
• Develop PCB layouts for onboard avionics.
• Analyze cross‑domain fault behavior and edge cases in the power system.
• Assist with power distribution and bus architecture across internal interfaces.
• Participate in bench bring‑up and debugging of avionics hardware.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Coursework or project experience in power electronics or analog/digital circuit design.
• Familiarity with PCB design tools such as KiCad or Altium.
• Preferred experience with gate drivers, DC‑DC converters, or battery management systems.
• Understanding of isolated sensing or isolated power architectures.
• Exposure to embedded firmware for hardware bring‑up and debugging with oscilloscopes or logic analyzers.
