Automotive Service Technician

About the role

The Service Technician at Mills Auto Group will join a busy dealership service department in North Wilkesboro, NC. This full‑time position focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer vehicles while delivering professional service and clear communication.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles based on customer concerns and service requests.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as tire rotation, fluid checks, and oil changes.
• Repair or replace worn components including spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel system parts, and sensors.
• Use computerized diagnostic equipment and visual inspection to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Follow detailed checklists to ensure thorough examinations and accurate repairs.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to customers and fellow technicians.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Strong verbal communication for explaining repairs.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to lift 50 lb unassisted.
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
