Automotive Service Technician – Full‑Time

About the role

The Mills Auto Group is seeking a full‑time Automotive Service Technician to join its Columbia, SC dealership. The technician will diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of vehicles while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance such as tire rotation, fluid checks, and oil changes.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment and visual inspection.
• Repair or replace components including spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors.
• Test repaired systems to verify proper operation and document findings.
• Communicate repair recommendations clearly to customers and team members.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to lift 50 lb unassisted.
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
