Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) - Budget Truck

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) for its Budget Truck operations in West Allis, Wisconsin. You will perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a fleet of newer moving vans and box trucks across multiple brands with minimal technical supervision, helping keep vehicles safe, reliable and available for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform oil and fluid services, lubrication, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, and warranty-related repairs depending on experience level
• Assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostics and repair procedures as you grow your skills
• Drive a Budget Truck on public roads as needed for testing, repair verification or operational support

Required profile

• Valid driver's license (Class A, B or C)
• At least 2 years of professional auto repair experience
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 more within the first year
• Working knowledge of ASE areas such as Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance and Light Vehicle/Diesel
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a noisy mechanical shop; must be at least 21 and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must obtain DOT medical clearance; on-site presence required
• OEM experience preferred

Required skills

• Complete set of tools for automotive repair and maintenance
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
