Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) - Budget Truck

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring immediately for an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) to support Budget Truck operations in Mickelton, New Jersey. You will perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a fleet of newer moving vans and box trucks across multiple brands, with minimal technical supervision. Your work helps keep vehicles safe, reliable and available so customers' businesses and rental experience run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform oil and fluid services, lubrication, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, and warranty-related repairs depending on experience level
• Assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostics and repair procedures as you grow your skills
• Drive a Budget Truck on public roads as needed for testing, repair verification or operational support

Required profile

• Valid driver's license (Class A, B or C)
• At least 2 years of professional auto repair experience
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 more within the first year
• Working knowledge of ASE areas such as Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance and Light Vehicle/Diesel
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, and enter, exit and drive vehicles
• Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must obtain DOT medical clearance; regular on-site presence required, remote work not possible
• OEM experience preferred

Required skills

• Complete set of tools for automotive repair and maintenance
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• ASE certification areas listed above
