Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) - Budget Truck

About the role

Avis Budget Group is hiring immediately for a full-time Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) to support Budget Truck operations in Addison, Illinois. You will perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a fleet of newer moving vans and box trucks across multiple brands, with minimal technical supervision. The work helps keep vehicles safe, reliable and available so customers can get on the road.

Key responsibilities

• Perform oil and fluid services, lubrication, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, and warranty-related repairs depending on experience level
• Assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostics and repair procedures as you grow your skills
• Drive a Budget Truck on public roads as needed for testing, repair verification or operational support

Required profile

• Valid driver's license (Class A, B or C)
• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 more within the first year
• Working knowledge of ASE areas such as engine repair, drivetrain/axles, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and light vehicle/diesel
• Complete set of automotive tools, basic computer skills (typing and data entry), and ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a noisy shop
• At least 21 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, and able to obtain DOT medical clearance
• Regular on-site presence; previous OEM experience is preferred
